Our Humble Beginnings
The Bettergoods® story starts simply – with a family and their love of good food. As first-generation immigrants to America, our founders brought traditional recipes from their homeland, constantly cooking up rich curries, fluffy flatbreads, and sweet syrupy desserts. Food was at the heart of every family gathering, holiday celebration, and lazy weekend afternoon.
When our founders eventually had kids of their own, mealtimes got messy (to say the least!). Between picky eaters, choke-hazard worries, and after-dinner cleanup, enjoying homecooked family dinners started to feel more stressful than fun. Still, our founders carried that same passion for flavorful food rooted in their upbringing. They tinkered around to adapt comforting recipes into convenient, kid-friendly options without sacrificing any of the tastes they loved.
As the kids got older, those experiments extended beyond family meal times. College care packages, snacks for sports tournaments, contributions to classroom parties…you name it. Over the years, friends and neighbors caught wind of the yummy bites coming out of our founder’s kitchen and consistently asked, “When are you opening a restaurant? A food truck? Can I get this at my grocery store?“
Then in 2018, after their last kid headed off to college, our founders finally decided to take the leap. Combining generations of family recipes with a modern twist for convenience, it was time to share their love for good food far beyond friends and family.
Born in 2018: Introducing Bettergoods®
Equipped with decades of cooking know-how and a passion for flavor, Bettergoods® was born! We started small, focusing first on specialty grocery stores and markets in our local community. Our very first product to hit shelves? An over-the-top chicken wing we lovingly dubbed Clucky Roasters – crisp baked wings basted in a sweet & spicy glaze made from scratch.
From there, we gradually expanded our reaches, answering consumer demand to bring our growing line-up of craveworthy frozen foods like Creamy Custard Yogurt, Righteous Rising Pizza, and Fantastic Fudge Pops to major retailers nationwide. Now with distribution across over 5,000 grocery stores and availability for online ordering, our founders ultimate vision has become reality.

Led by our founding Head Chef Alton who turned down offers from five-star restaurants to focus full-time on Bettergoods®, this team of classically-trained chefs, bakers, and food scientists work tirelessly to fine-tune every recipe.
Testing countless flavor combinations and textural tweaks in our 12,000 sq ft state-certified commercial kitchens ensures each product innovation not only meets our uncompromising quality standards but leaves taste buds satisfied. From ideation to commercialization, new launches can take up to two years ensuring we get each recipe just right before sharing with loyal customers!
Our Production Crew
This mighty team makes the magic happen, overseeing small-batch production and packaging for each Bettergoods® frozen selection. Our crew whips through over 5,000 lbs of wings every day (that’s nearly 14 tons a week!) to prep crispy Clucky Roasters for the oven. Skilled pop makers craft indulgent Fudge Pop flavors by hand, expertly enrobing sweet cream centers into flowing chocolate fudge molds before flash-freezing.
Rising Pizza gets stretch-and-tossed by members of our authentic artisan pizza club, ensuring every pie achieves that perfect parlor-style crispness. Working together in perfect synchronicity keeps our production floor moving like a well-oiled machine…or should we say well-greased pizza steel? Either way, this crew cranks out craveworthy convenience 12 hours a day, 5 days a week to keep retailers fully stocked and customers happy!
The Better Squad
Delivering exceptional customer service is the Better Squad’s specialty. This cheerful team manages our direct-to-consumer online orders, ensuring proper processing, prompt shipping and providing helpful replies to product questions and feedback.
Overseeing warehouse logistics and distribution operations behind the scenes, this quality-driven team guarantees our retailer partners consistently get reliable stock to keep freezer shelves full coast to coast. Monitoring latest food trends and consumer buying patterns lets us predict demand too. Giving Back to Our Community
Success tastes pretty sweet, but not as sweet as giving back! As a proud partner of No Kid Hungry®, Bettergoods® actively supports the national campaign to end childhood hunger in America. Because no child should have to worry where their next meal is coming from.
Since 2021, we have contributed over $500,000 to provide up to 5 million meals for kids in need through No Kid Hungry® and other hunger relief partners. Our commitment continues through monetary and product donations along with volunteering time for meal packing events.
On a local level, Bettergoods® also works hands-on with food banks, shelters and community kitchens donating products, serving meals and assisting with fundraising initiatives in our headquarters region. After all, caring for our hometown neighbors instilled those early values of family and fellowship our founders baked right into Bettergoods® from the beginning!
